The Shack Pour Over has been designed to be used with The Shack Pot or with The Shack Mug, to make the perfect pour over coffee.

All of the pieces in The Shack Brewing Kit have been designed by us and handmade in Casuarina, NSW.

Pour Over coffee is preferred by many coffee aficionados as it allows better control of taste and strength than many other brewing methods.  We love it because it helps turn coffee making from routine to ritual, introducing a calm mindfulness to the wonderful process of brewing your favourite cup or pot of coffee.

Pour over coffee starts with freshly ground coffee, a filter, and a filter holder/dripper.  At the most basic level, pour over brewing involves pouring water over and through the grounds to extract the coffee flavours into your cup or serving vessel. However, the grinding of the beans, the wetting, dissolution and diffusion phases are all linked and each affect what comes next in the process.

Mindfully carrying out each of these tasks undoubtedly helps you achieve your perfect cup of coffee.

Our hand made ceramic pour over has been designed to be used with our teapot or on top of our mugs for a smaller brew.  All of the pieces in The Shack Brewing Kit have been designed by us and handmade in Casuarina, NSW.  We use our pour over with our re-useable organic cotton Coffee Socks, which not only filter the coffee but also remove unwanted residues and oils from the beans. The Shack pour over can also be used with paper or metal filters.

We hope that the love that’s gone into creating our coffee pour over will help make your coffee brewing a wonderful daily ritual.
