As Within, So Without

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

In the face of this current earthly imbalance, with the devastating bushfires blazing through our communities in NSW and QLD Australia, as well as climate emergencies occurring all over our planet, we believe we all can and should be taking action.
We also feel that while we are all focusing on the change that needs to be made, we should continue to feed the second wolf by acknowledging all the positive change that is happening as we band together to save this precious planet...
I love that we have many courageous people currently fighting to keep fires away from our homes and loved ones.
I love that we live in a community that comes together in these times of need to provide support for both the firefighters and those displaced from their homes.
I love that boundaries dissolve and firefighters are travelling from all over our country to help.
I love that our children are leading the fight for our planet’s future
I love that the issue of protecting our planet is becoming less partisan and more about love for our family, our neighbours and our home.
If you are currently in bushfire prone areas,  things can change quickly. It’s important to get reliable, current information from a trusted source. This guide by The Red Cross is useful:   https://www.redcross.org.au/get-help/emergencies/looking-after-yourself/how-to-prepare-for-a-bushfire
